Stolen Gear – Details

Scuba Leeds van and stolen dive gear!

You may or may not be aware but sadly the Scuba Leeds dive van, Ford T350 LWB in white – registration MA13 YDH, was stolen from outside Ben’s house after the pool session on Thursday 19th October. This goes beyond inconvenient as it was full of school and personal dive teams dive gear.

This gear was mainly Scuba Leeds school gear but Neil, Ben, Susie and Alex have lost a large amount of personal dive gear too. PLEASE keep your ear to the ground and your eyes out on places like Gumtree, eBay, Facebook Selling Groups (and anywhere else that you can think of) over the next few weeks for Oceanic & Apeks Regs, Oceanic BCDs, Cylinders. ANYTHING you hear please let us know, we have serial numbers for most stuff too.

For a full list of kit CLICK HERE.

This is a blow and we have had to cancel some diver training but as of Thursday we should have a temporary van from the insurance company. Sadly the dive gear was uninsured (based on where the crime happened), however the support from divers and the dive industry has meant that by Thursday we should have enough gear to continue our diver training and get people back in the water. We’d like to say a massive “Thank You!” to everybody who has loaned dive kit to keep us going – it’s been invaluable and we’d have been stuck without you.

Many people have asked what they can do to help – SHARE THIS POST. There is a long list of things that we need, but the best thing you can do to support the dive centre is keep diving, get your dive gear serviced, book onto courses and get involved with diving as much as possible. You are the life blood of the dive centre and the scuba diving industry. It’s been devastating losing so much equipment, but the only way we are going to get through this is by the ongoing support of our divers. We thank you in advance for your continued support and help.

We are offering a £1000 reward to anyone that supplies us or the police with information the leads to the recovery of the stolen equipment. If you have any information please contact us using one of the following methods:
