PADI Rescue Diver
Many scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they've ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practising problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun - it's serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.
What will I do?
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with both minor and major dive emergencies, using a variety of techniques. During the classroom session, you will develop your knowledge about medical emergencies and how to deal with them in the unlikely event you should ever encounter one while diving. You will spend time discussing self rescue techniques introduced during your entry level training and learn how to develop these into rescue skills. Furthermore, you will gain understanding in how to recognise and manage stress and panic in other divers, emergency management, equipment and scene management. This will ensure you understand the why and how for the skill development section of the course.
