Fourth Element Xerotherm Wrist Warmers
The Fourth Element Xerotherm Wrist Warmers have been specifically designed for use with dry glove systems. The idea behind the wrist warmer is that it gives the diver additional thermal protection at the wrist. The double layer of Xerotherm fabric protects the wrist where blood flows close to the surface. This is an area of the body where heat is easily dissipated. It is also the area where you have low thermal protection when using dry gloves, the area between a diver?s undersuit and dry glove liner. The bottom line, your hands will stay warmer for longer.
Additionally divers will benefit from a reduction in glove squeeze as the wrist warmer sits below the drysuit seal allowing a small amount of air to pass under the wrist seal into the dry glove allowing it to equalise. In the unlikely event of a dry glove failure (it becoming torn) the fabric is thin enough to prevent water flooding into the suit through the air space under the seal.
With more and more divers moving towards dry glove systems on their drysuits Fourth Element have done what they are best at, leading the way in thermal protection. Combining the Xerotherm Wrist Warmers and the new Xerotherm Gloves to make the ideal combination to keep your hands truly warm in even the coldest of climates.
