PADI Open Water Diver Referral Course
Have you always wanted to learn to dive and discover new adventures beneath the waves? If so, the PADI Open Water Diver Referral course is the first step in becoming a PADI Diver. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world?s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
With PADI being a global organisation, you have the option of splitting your PADI Open Diver Course into segments. This allows you to complete all the classroom and pool-based learning in Leeds in your own time, then complete your open water dives at a later date, either with us or abroad on your next holiday. Meaning you get to experience your first open water diving experience in the warmer tropical waters and you?re fully prepared before you go, but you?re not wasting your precious holiday time stuck in a classroom and pool when you really want to be in the sea!
If you’ve tried diving through a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification. If you have completed this with us here at Scuba Leeds within the last 4 weeks we will take your ?30 Discover Scuba Diving fee off your PADI Open Water Diver course fee. So what will I do?
The theory is split into two sections and is designed to teach you the basic principles of scuba diving. You will cover basic dive theory, equipment, skills and dive planning. Knowledge development includes self-study and classroom based reviews with your PADI Instructor. This is also the time where you will practice assembling and dis-assembling your dive gear for the first time.
Confined Water Dives
You will make at least 5 confined water dives which will be completed in our two training pools. Your first dives will be in a shallow water pool with a sloping bottom. This helps you build your skills underwater in a safe and fun environment. Once you have completed the shallow pool dives we will take you to our 5.5m diver training pool. Your PADI Instructor to orientate you on the use of a drysuit before making your open water dives.
