Todays Meet the Dive Team is Colin Hey, after 34 years of working with IT software, in both development and support I retired in June 2013. I enjoy spending my spare time scuba diving, skiing, sailing, hill walking and travelling.
When did you start diving? I took my first course (PADI Open Water) in February 2004, after a few try dives some years before in Morley baths and the Bahamas.
What made you start diving? It is something my youngest son wanted to do together with me and his brother.
Dive goals? Keep diving and help others to dive.
What keeps you diving and how do you keep the passion? Every dive is different and memorable.
Favourite dive site? I have been to Scapa Flow five times in the last five years. Although it can be one of the most challenging, the rewards make it well worth while. I like the Sound of Mull as well for green water, but there are lots of favourites around the UK, from Plymouth to North Wales, Bridlington, and St Abbs. For blue water the GBR was very good, especially at night, but I like the Red Sea liveaboards and Malta.
Favourite piece of dive equipment? I like my twin 7ltr 300 bar cylinders and my O’three dry suit and semi dry suit.
