Do you want amazing freedom of movement in the water or simply want to extend your bottom time? If so then sidemount diving may be for you…
Sidemount diving offers divers a different approach to equipment configuration and an opportunity to learn a completely new set of skills. It takes redundancy to a new level and for many divers who try sidemounts for the first time, the knowledge that their breathing systems are in view at all times is a massive comfort.
What Will I Do?
Your sidemount training will show you how to adapt your current diving skills developed in conventional back mounted BCD/wing configuration for use with sidemounts. The course develops your ability to assemble, configure and understand how to safely use sidemount equipment. Along with the theoretical knowledge to plan, manage and execute no stop recreational sidemount dives within the depth limits of your current certification of Open Water, Advanced Open Water or Deep Diver etc.
What our students say...
Christopher completed his course with us recently after many years of diving single tanks, here are some of his thoughts:
“Sidemounting is something I have wanted to try for a while, especially after seeing it firsthand in the pool one night. The first session consisted of an orientation and briefing at the dive shop, then a try dive in the 5.5m dive pool. It only took the sight of bungee and shiny Ali 80's to get me salivating and more hooked….. It was clear by the time I got to the bottom of the pool I would be doing the speciality and this was booked straight after. The speciality course was fantastic with Alex providing great instruction, knowledge and experience….. The whole experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend you try sidemount diving and if it's for you then there is no better person to go to than Alex.” - Christopher Hartley, PADI IDC Staff Instructor
