Advanced Open Water

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They're what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don't have to be “advanced” to take it – it's designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.

What Will I Do?

The course is a great way to expand your diving horizons, with a choice of 5 adventure dives that allows you to tailor the course to your own interests. These dives are designed to develop your abilities by introducing you to a number of exciting different diving experiences. The aim of the program is to have loads of fun underwater while learning new skills which will be used during many of your future dives.

As an added bonus, each of the Adventure dives completed during the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program can be counted as the first dive of each corresponding PADI Specialty. For example, if you choose to complete the PADI Dry Suit Adventure dive during the course, you will only need to complete one more training dive to have earned yourself the PADI Dry Suit Specialty Certification. It's that easy.... Click the links above to give you more information about each of the PADI Specialty Diver programs.

One reason you'll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from more than 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, diving with underwater scooters, peak performance buoyancy and much more.

Your Scuba Gear

You use all the basic scuba gear  including your underwater compass. Depending on which three adventure dives you pick, you may also try out underwater photography equipment, DPVs (underwater scooters), a dive light, a dry suit, lift bags, a dive flag/float or other specialty gear.

Your Learning Materials

Your PADI's Adventures in Diving Manual and DVD provide information on more than 16 types of specialty diving. You'll use them as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures. The course fee includes your Adventures in Diving manual, slate, equipment hire and certification fee.
